  • Is there any financial support for being part of the network?
As part of the Be Connected program, there is a range of grants available to community organisations in the Be Connected network to support older people in their communities to embrace digital. There are three different kinds of grants available to Be Connected partners: Activation grants, Building Digital Skills grants and Capacity Building grants. See our Grants Program page for more information.
  • What marketing materials do Network Partners receive?
A FREE welcome pack containing A5 flyers, A4 and A3 posters with various designs, appointment cards and a small learner booklet is available to all new Network Partners.
  • I used to be part of BfS, will I still be called a Kiosk and have a Kiosk number?

You will now be called a Network Partner. We value your expertise and experience of supporting Older Australians from being a member of the BfS Network and we’d like to work with you in the future and are therefore calling to invite you to become a partner of the Be Connected Network.

Each partner will have a new unique ID to use when registering learners onto the Be Connected learning portal.

  • What support do Network Partners receive?
We provide a range of support materials to help organisations use the learning platform, deliver sessions and support the running of their organisations. Resources will help you support people to become independent internet users. Other resources cover how you can access new funding opportunities, working with new partners and recruit and support volunteers.
  • Is volunteer recruitment/training support offered?
We’ll expect each individual organisation to oversee their own volunteer recruitment and retention. However, as part of the Network, we’ll provide you with support to find, manage and support your volunteers in the form of resources and training.
  • What role will the Library Manager and staff be expected to fulfil, for example in reporting, supervision and organisation?

Members of the Network will be asked to share basic information concerning their digital inclusion activities and support given.

Our current practice is only to collect information when absolutely necessary, and to use digital tools to facilitate data collection in the most efficient way possible - we will use this same approach for our work with the Be Connected program.
